‘Deadpool 3’ Leaked Images Confirm Deadpool Corps, Multiverse Team of Deadpools

The past few months have been a bit dull for the MCU and to be honest, the whole 2023 was kind of disappointing for the franchise if you exclude GOTG Vol 3 and Loki Season 2. Now things may get on track this year with Marvel Studios' only theatrical release of 2024, Deadpool 3. The hype around this film has been building up for quite some sometime and the recent leaked images are just adding to it.

Deadpool 3 is probably the most anticipated MCU film after the Multiverse of Madness and the leaked images tease a Multiverse of deadpools, which is likely to be double the madness that Doctor Strange 2 brought in 2022.

The newly leaked images via Daily Mail show Deadpool aka Wade Wilson in a regular red-color suit and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine aka Logan in a Yellow suit. What is noticeable is that the images also include two more variants of Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds can be seen sporting a ponytail in a shiny red suit that looks like armor. There is also another Deadpool without the mask, which is the original Deadpool from the previous films. And finally, we have a dog wearing a Deadpool costume, who is likely to be Dogpool from another dimension.

All these images not only tease but confirm that the plot will follow the story of Multiverse introducing us to the Deadpool Corps, a multi-dimensional team of alternate reality Deadpools. Like every other thing in the Multiverse, Deadpool also has many variants, and the variants shown in the images are Dogpool, Knightpool, and the original Deadpool from the FOX universe. In the comics,  Deadpool Corps also included Lady Deadpool, Kidpool, Headpool, Pandapool, Grootpool, Motorpool, Squirrelpool, Hawkeyepool, and a few others. MCU doesn't have any Deadpool in the present universe, but there could be another Deadpool from the X-Men universe who was last seen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Like Deadpool seems to have many variants, a few Wolverine variants can also make an appearance. We all know, we have never seen Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in a Yellow suit in any of the FOX universe films. So the one Wolverine we are seeing in the leaked images could be one among a few other Wolverines set to appear in the film whose story basically follows Deadpool as he jumps to the present MCU dimension that is protected by the Avengers.

 

Who is Dogpool?

Dogpool's existence began a hard way, as he was owned by Mascara X and subjected to countless product tests, particularly their latest cosmetics. The experiments transformed him, giving him the ability to repair himself. Fortunately for him, after several perilous experiments that appeared to have killed him, Mascara X had no need for him and let him die in the garbage. However, because of his newly increased healing factor, he was able to escape and was hired by a circus as the main act, "Deadpool the Daredevil Dog," who performed death-defying acts. He certainly survived as well, much to the amazement of the viewers.

Who is Knightpool?

Knightpool is one of the more recent deadpools that Deadpool and Pandapool encounter as he joins the Deadpool Corps. He speaks in a strange language that may not be understood by the other deadpools in the team.

Deadpool 3 will see the return of Ryan Reynolds in the fan-favorite character of Merc-with-a-mouth along with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, who is coming out of retirement. In the film, which will be a sequel to Deadpool 2, Reynolds' Wade Wilson aka Deadpool uses Cable's time machine to travel into the future to save Wolverine from dying. Logan does not know who that guy is and wants him gone, but using a time machine and changing history gets them on the TVA's radar.

Deadpool 3 also stars Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Jennifer Garner as Elektra, Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, Karan Soni, Matthew Macfadyen, Leslie Uggams, Rob Delaney, and Stefan Kapicic among others.

Deadpool 3 is currently filming and is expected to wrap later this month. The production was delayed last year due to SAG-AFTRA strikes, but in a surprise move, the film was pushed up to release by Disney. Currently, Deadpool 3 is scheduled to be released on July 26, 2024, but will it be able to make it to the theaters in this short span of time?

Writers of the first two films Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have penned the script for the third film as well along with Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin. Shawn Levy is the director of Deadpool 3.
