Netflix has revealed the first teaser trailer and release date for the second season of ‘Alice in Borderland,’ the Japanese-language action, sci-fi, and thriller series during its global fan event TUDUM. ‘Alice in Borderland’ Season 2 will release on December 22 on Netflix, worldwide.

The teaser shows that the survivors from the first season have been asked to play another round of deadly games. The second season also seems to be set in a dystopian world covered in plants, which looks more creepy than the empty city from the first season. In the trailer, Arisu desperately asks, "If we clear all the games, can we return?"

The second season of "Alice in Borderland" follows Arisu and Usagi, who have lost their sense of purpose in life, as they risk their lives in the hope of returning to their world by completing a series of "games" that play to different character attributes such as intelligence, strength, and teamwork. Arisu and Usagi must solve Borderland's riddles in order to return to their world. This season shifts from the striking environment of an empty Shibuya in the first season to a damaged Shibuya covered in plants. Don't miss a single second of this survival game filled with strong action and a gripping tale!

In the first season, only ten members survived the deadly games, and all of them are returning for more in season 2. Returning cast includes Kento Yamazaki, Tao Tsuchiya, Nijiro Murakami, Ayaka Miyoshi, Dori Sakurada, Aya Asahina, Yutaro Watanabe, Tsuyoshi Abe, Sho Aoyagi, and Riisa Naka.

"Alice in Borderland" is based on Haro Aso's graphic novel of the same name. The first season follows Ryohei Arisu, a listless, jobless, and video-game-obsessed young man, who awakens in a weird, deserted version of Tokyo, where he and his friends must compete in deadly games to survive. Arisu encounters Usagi, a young woman, who is navigating the games on her own, in this strange environment. They set out to solve one mystery after another, risking their lives and confronting what it means to live.

The series debuted on December 10, and the first season has 8 episodes. The series currently has 71% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and the audience score is at 91% from 565 reviews, which is way more impressive than many non-English shows that debuted recently.
