Amazon Studios renewed “Upload”, for a second season just a week after the arrival of its first season. Season 1 became a hit soon after its arrival, many critics also called it a visionary as they think it may become a reality in the future.

In the final episode of Upload season 1, Ingrid arrived at Nathan’s 2GB room and found him without data, giving him an extra GB so she could talk to him. There she revealed that she’s going to be with him forever, as she decided to upload. A person can only upload if they’re dead, meaning that Ingrid killed herself so she can be with Nathan all the time. The last time viewers saw Ingrid in the real world, she confronted her father following the break-up, revealing she actually tried to save Nathan by changing the settings on his car to protect him.

Season 2 is likely to answer if Ingrid is alive or dead. Who actually killed Nathan? and also, if there is any way to be able to download human consciousness in a body after the Upload.

“Upload” takes place in the near future, where people can be “uploaded” into a virtual afterlife of their choice. It follows a young app developer, Nathan Brown (Robbie Amell), who winds up in the hospital following a self-driving car accident, needing to quickly decide his fate. After a rushed deliberation with his shallow girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards), he chooses to be uploaded to her family’s luxurious virtual afterlife, the Horizen company’s “Lakeview.” Once uploaded in Lakeview, Nathan meets his customer service “Angel” Nora Anthony (Andy Allo), who at first is his charismatic concierge and guide, but quickly becomes his friend and confidante, helping him navigate this new digital extension of life.

"Upload" comes from “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation” creator Greg Daniels who was thrilled to announce it. It is executively produced by Daniels, along with Howard Klein. Kevin Bigley and Zainab Johnson also stars in the series. Season 2 will arrive in early 2022.
