‘Extraction 2’ has officially begun filming today in Prague, Czech Republic. Starring Chris Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, the action-packed Netflix film is expected to wrap up production by the end of March 2022.

Previously, the film was expected to shoot in LA and Australia. But later the plan was changed due to COVID-19 restriction in Australia and it was moved to Prague, which has a much more favorable environment for film production. Russo Brothers recently wrapped up the production of The Gray Man in Prague.

Netflix confirmed that Tyler Rake didn't at the end of Extraction and he will return in the second movie. The streamer revealed a clip showing Rake falling into the river from the bridge, but he opens his eyes and begins to swim uphill. A voice says, "Tyler…  you drown, not by falling into the river, but by staying submerged in it."  You can watch the clip at the bottom of this article.

Chris Hemsworth is set to return as fearless mercenary Tyler Rake in the 2nd movie, but unlike its predecessor, the film will not be set in the subcontinent. There is no information about the plot for this film yet, but it is confirmed to be a sequel story beginning at the same point where Extraction ended. At the end of Extraction, Tyler appears to be dead, but a scene in the end credits confirms that he survived.

Joe Russo is returning with the script for Extraction 2 along with director Sam Hargrave. Russo has finished writing the screenplay, and Hargrave has previously indicated that he pitched some plot ideas to Joe Russo. As with the first film, we can expect a lot of action and fun in this one. Hargrave has also teased about building an entire film universe based on the Extraction, but he has not specified how or when this will happen.

Extraction (2020) had a dynamic cast that includes Chris Hemsworth, Rudhraksh Jaiswal, Randeep Hooda, Pankaj Tripathi, Golshifteh Farahani, Neha Mahajan, and Rob Collins. The film was set in Bangladesh and follows black market mercenary Tyler Rake on a rescue operation to bring back a young boy caught in a drug war between notorious drug lords. Kidnappers have trapped him within one of the world's most impregnable cities, and his recovery requires Tyler Rake's exceptional expertise, but he is a shattered man with nothing to lose, holding a death wish that makes an already lethal mission nearly impossible.

We can expect ‘Extraction 2’ to arrive on Netflix in late 2022. Extraction was a big hit on Netflix with over 90 million households tuning in to watch the movie in its first 28 days of arrival. Recently, Dwayne Jhonson's movie Red Notice broke the viewership record of Bird Box to become the most-watched movie on Netflix and pushed Extraction to the third position.

Russo brothers have also directed the action thriller "The Gray Man" for Netflix, which is also the biggest investment the streamer has ever made into a single movie.“The Gray Man” wrapped filming in July, and it stars Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Dhanush, Jessica Henwick, Regé-Jean Page, and Billy Bob Thornton.
