Jason Momoa has arrived in London to start filming Aquaman 2. Momoa will join the cast and crew on Monday (July 19) to begin shooting his scenes. Amber Heard is already present on set and filming for the past three weeks. Momoa plays the titular character of Aquaman and Arthur Curry.

Before arriving in London, Momoa was busy filming the third season of the Apple series "See," which began the shoot in the second week of May. Momo has had quite a busy schedule since the resumption of various production last year. Immediately after filming "See" season 2, the actor started filming the Netflix film "Slumberland" in Feb-March, which completed the production in the third week of May. Soon after Slumberland, Momoa joined "See" season 3. All these projects were filming in Toronto, Canada, so, it may have been easier for him to switch the production from one to the other.

‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ started filming on June 28 in London with director James Wan. The production began under the working title, "Necrus," which indicated that the upcoming DC movie sequel could connect with Necrus, a domed underwater city like Atlantis. However, Necrus also known as "Black City" has a more unstable status in the ocean as it only exists on the material plane for brief periods and has no fixed location.

If Aquaman 2 plot includes Nercus City, we can safely assume that we will see the character of Mongo on screen. Mongo is the tyrant ruler of Necrus, who has taken an aggressive stance against all incursions into the sea by surface dwellers.

The Lost Kingdom will also see the return of Patrick Wilson as King Orm & Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as David Kane & Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, and Game of Thrones alumni Pilou Asbaek. Nicole Kidman’s Atlanta, and Willem Dafoe’s Vulko are yet to be confirmed for this movie.

‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ is set to arrive in theaters on December 16, 2022, which will be 4 years after the arrival of the first film in 2018. Conjuring Universe creator James Wan is directing the movie with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick writing the script. Wan and Peter Safran are the producers.
