Lucifer is officially coming to an end this September as Netflix has revealed the premiere date for "Lucifer" season 6, which is also the final season of this action-fantasy series. Lucifer Season 6 will arrive on September 10 on Netflix, worldwide. The announcement came by Netflix during the show’s panel at Comic-Con at Home on Saturday.

Season 5B premiered just 2 months back on May 28, and fans are quite surprised to see that the next season is coming after a gap of just three months. The production on season 6 finished earlier this year in January and it was ready for a release. The early arrival of season 6 may have to do with Netflix's upcoming series The Sandman, which will also feature the character of Lucifer. Netflix may not like to confuse the audience with two characters of Lucifer played by separate actors in different shows.

Lucifer’ Season will have ten episodes and is likely to follow where season 5B left. In the finale of Season 5B, we see Lucifer returns, but not as the Devil. Michael and the angels then surround Lucifer, kneeling before him as the season concludes with Lucifer's final remarks in his new role: “Oh my Me.” The penultimate episode of 5B saw the shocking murder of Dan, which was described as the ending of the series before it was renewed for another season.

Kevin Alejandro pitched us on his death because he said, 'It's the last season, and everyone has grown to adore this guy.' We were in the early stages, and it sort of stuck with us as time passed. So it's all Kevin's fault, really,” said executive producer Joe Henderson said during the show's panel at comic-con.

Previously, Merrin Dungey was cast as Sonya, a no-nonsense detective who forms an odd friendship with Amenadiel, and Brianna Hildebrand as Rory, a rebellious and angsty angel trying to follow in Lucifer's footsteps, who would soon "realize Lucifer isn't exactly the devilish big bro she dreamed he'd be."

LUCIFER is the story of the original fallen angel, based on characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg. Lucifer Morningstar, dissatisfied with his gloomy life in hell, moves to Los Angeles. While there, he aids humanity by bringing out people's deepest desires and ideas through his experience and telepathic skills. A shootout involving him and a Detective in his nightclub (Lux) leads to him becoming an LAPD consultant who tries to punish people for their sins through law and justice.
