Upcoming HBO Max original and ‘The Suicide Squad’ Spin-Off series ‘Peacemaker’ has got a release date on the streamer. Based on DC Characters, the first three episodes of the series will be released on January 13, 2022, on HBO Max.

We confirmed this info from DC Press Portal along with the titles of the first three episodes. Other episode titles are still kept under the wraps along with their premiere date. However, based on HBO Max schedule history, we can assume that other episodes will arrive on weekly basis. HBO content chief Casey Bloys confirmed in February this year that the series will arrive in January 2022.

Below is the title of the episodes (first 4) along with their premiere date:

Ep. 1: A Whole New Whirled -Thursday, January 13, 2022
Ep. 2: Best Friends Never - Thursday, January 13, 2022
Ep. 3: Better Goff Dead - Thursday, January 13, 2022
Ep. 4: Stop Dragon My Heart Around

The series is set to arrive on Sunday (Jan 16), which is very unusual for an HBO Max series because usually any new series debuts on Thursday or Friday. But, even if we see any adjustments with this schedule, it won't be very significant as it will move from Jan 16 to probably Jan 14 or 13.

The series was announced as a limited series with only one season consisting of 8-episodes of 60-min each, however, we are also getting mixed information regarding James Gunn and WB are exploring the possibility of another season.

‘Peacemaker’ series will explore the origins of the titular character that John Cena will play in the upcoming film, The Suicide Squad, a man who believes in peace at any cost - no matter how many people he has to kill to get it. The official plot of the series is still kept under the wraps, however, we can expect some details to be officially revealed after the release of ‘The Suicide Squad’ movie on August 6.

Along with Cena, the series stars Steve Agee as John Economos, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase aka Vigilante, and Chukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Murn.

The series cast also includes Annie Chang as Detective Sophie Song, Lochlyn Munro as Larry Fitzgibbon, Christopher Heyerdahl as Captain Locke, Nhut Le as Judomaster, Elizabeth Ludlow as Keeya, Rizwan Manji as Jamil, Alison Araya as Amber, and Lenny Jacobson as Evan.

The filming for the series concluded on July 15, which was the 131st day after the production started on January 15 this year in Vancouver, Canada. James Gunn has written the series along with directing five episodes. Jody Hill, Brad Anderson, and Rosemary Rodriguez have directed one episode each. The series' executive producers are Gunn and Peter Safran, with Cena serving as a co-executive producer. “Peacemaker,” based on DC characters, is produced by Gunn's Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television.
