‘The Umbrella Academy’ Season 3 Reveals Sparrow Academy Cast Details

Netflix has revealed the new cast members who will be joining season 3 of The Umbrella Academy. The new cast members will form the new Sparrow Academy, which was introduced in the season 2 finale in an alternate 2019. At the end of the second season of “The Umbrella Academy,” the originally adopted children of Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) returned from their trip to the 1960s to find their disruption of the timeline yet again caused some major changes, namely in the creation of a class of Sparrows — one that included Ben (Justin H. Min), who had previously died.

Netflix has unveiled the actors who will make up the Sparrow Academy, which was formed by Hargreeves in this alternate 2019. In addition to Justin H. Min, Justin Cornwell, Britne Oldford, Genesis Rodriguez, Cazzie David, Jake Epstein, and destined-for-greatness actor known as “Existential Dread Inducing Psykronium Cube” are set to join The Umbrella Academy as this new motley crew with extraordinary abilities.

JUSTIN CORNWELL (Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, I Am the Night) will play MARCUS, Sparrow #1. A natural-born leader that oozes confidence and keeps the family together who is equally as charming as he is chiseled and colossus.

JUSTIN H. MIN (After Yang, The Umbrella Academy) will play BEN, Sparrow #2. This is not the sweet Ben we know and love. This Ben is scheming, tactical, and vicious, determined to gain his status as a leader.

BRITNE OLDFORD (The Path, Hunters) will play FEI, Sparrow #3. Fei sees the world in a special way. She’s typically the smartest person in the room and willing to negotiate – yet, once you cross her, there’s no turning back.

JAKE EPSTEIN (Designated Survivor, Suits) will play ALPHONSO, Sparrow #4. A scarred crime-fighter with a caustic and biting sense of humor who enjoys verbally berating his enemies, almost as much as he enjoys a good pizza and a six-pack of beer.

GENESIS RODRIGUEZ (The Fugitive, Big Hero 6) will play SLOANE, Sparrow #5. A romantic and a dreamer eager to see the world beyond the academy. Even though she feels tied down to her family, Sloane has plans of her own…and she may just act on them.

CAZZIE DAVID (86’ed, New York Times best-selling author of “No One Asked for This”) will play JAYME, Sparrow #6. Jayme is a loner with a fear-inducing snarl you’d be wise to avoid at all costs. She doesn’t say much because she doesn’t have to.

EXISTENTIAL DREAD INDUCING PSYKRONIUM CUBE (Newcomer) will play CHRISTOPHER, Sparrow #7. Christopher is a telekinetic cube that can turn the room freezing cold and induce paralyzing fear without so much of a warning. The trustworthy, loyal oracle of the Sparrows is treated as just another sibling.

 

The upcoming third season will therefore see returning characters Vanya (Elliot Page), Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David Castañeda), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), and Five (Aidan Gallagher) having to deal with these changes. Lila (Ritu Arya) will also be back in the mix, as will Pogo (Adam Godley) and Hargreeves himself.

The Umbrella Academy is created for television by Steve Blackman who is the showrunner and serves as executive producer alongside Jeff F. King, Keith Goldberg, Mike Richardson, and Jesse McKeown. Gerard. King also serves as director. Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, who are behind the graphic novels from which this series takes inspiration, serve as co-executive producers.

The show is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, for Netflix. Production on this new season will begin in February in Toronto.
