Action-Thriller Movie ‘Carry-On’ Officially Begins Filming at Netflix

The film is led by Kingsman star Taron Egerton, who plays a young TSA agent, Ethan Kopek, who gets blackmailed by a mysterious traveler

Taron Egerton and Sofia Carson’s upcoming Netflix movie, ‘Carry-On’ has officially begun filming this Monday in New Orleans, US. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, the film is expected to finish production on December 16, 2022, before the Christmas Holidays.


Netflix also rounded up the cast while teasing the start of production, yesterday. Along with Sofia Carson, the film which is set to be a thriller-drama also stars Taron Egerton, Ozark star Jason Bateman, Danielle Deadwyler, and Theo Rossi. The newly announced cast members include Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), Logan Marshall-Green (Lou, Redeeming Love), Sinqua Walls (White Men Can’t Jump, Nanny), Tonatiuh (Angelyne, Promised Land), Joe Williamson (Black Bird, Ford v Ferrari), Curtiss Cook (West Side Story, The Devil You Know), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley, All My Life), and Gil Perez-Abraham (The Batman, Our Son).

Carry-On is an action-thriller drama that centers around Ethan Kopek, a young TSA agent who gets blackmailed by a mysterious traveler to let a dangerous package slip through security and onto a Christmas Day flight.


Jaume Collet-Serra directs the film based on a screenplay written by TJ Fixman, with additional writing by Michael Green. Holly Bario for Amblin Partners, Brian Williams for Dylan Clark Productions, Scott Greenberg, and Seth William Meier are the executive producers. This is the first film to be produced as part of the deal announced between Netflix and Amblin Partners.
